My dad passed yesterday after a short illness. He was 71-years-old.

He was the most principled-minded man I have ever met. His integrity was exemplary. Lord knows he faced a host of adversities in his life but in all, his Job-like attitude always left me amazed.

He may not have amassed wealth or garnered fame and fortune but he brought up five children teaching them the most important life lessons of faith, integrity, sacrifice, hard work and looking adversity in the eye.

Dad, the epitome of quiet strength, we miss you!

It’s been a while since I posted. However, it is better late than never so, here we go. I shot this interesting clip in the OR of the heart fibrillating.

My wife asked me to pick up something from a store in a strip mall close to home after work. So I drive over to the strip mall and cannot find this store. I call her up and she insists the store is in that mall. She was there a month earlier. I drive around again. Still can’t find it. I even drive to another strip mall just to make sure she was not mistaken – no success.

So I drive back to the first mall. It’s been a long day; I am tired and hungry and was getting a bit angry at this point. I decide to ask for directions (something my wife had asked me to do earlier). I park and enter the first store I come across. It did not occur to me that it was a Tanning place. I am black. As I joined the line, a deafening silence fell in the room. When it got to my turn, I noticed that the two young ladies behind the counter had this incredulous look on their faces.

When I asked, “Can you tell me where……is?”, I heard an “oooh!” go off in the whole room. Then it finally occured to me where I was!

Anyway, the store closed down a week earlier!
